The Martian Chronicles

The Martian Chronicles is a unique type of science fiction book. It doesn't deal so much with alien monsters and far away space travel, but with showing the imperfections of the human race by comparing humans to the content and enviromentally aware martians. It will make everyone who reads it realize that humans are more of a risk to the survival of all other living things than an actual part of the well being of exsistence.
This book is amazing because of the relevance it has to the colonization of other continents on Earth. The basis of the story is when humans finally land on Mars they find people already living there, martians. But as humans have always done instead of leaving them alone in peace we want to claim Mars for our own selfish reasons. In trying this the humans release a virus named Chicken Pox to the martians. This virus eventually kills off all martians and their colonization because nothing more than a part of Mar's history. Its similar to how when past humans have discovered new continents and come in contact with other races they have released other diseases to these people. What is only a small nuisance to us is a vile plague to them. Of course there are always those who realize the inmoral actions of their peers and rebel in an effort to stop their actions. Much like in real life this action only results in more bloodshed and the eventual death of the rebel and other innocent people. Ultimately this achieves nothing.
The Martian Chronicles is truly a magnificent book. I would recommend this to anyone who likes science fiction, politics, or those who want to see the true nature of human exsistence. I wan't sure about this book at first but I am genuinenly glad I read this book. The way it is set up keeps the book interesting the whole way through. It is set up with different characters appearing all the time. It all comes together at the end though quiet spectacularly.
No one should miss The Martian Chronicles. It is easily the best book I read in a long time. I've always seen the human race as a disease on exsistence, and thats the way I like. This book puts that thought together in a whole new way.
